In those times, garden parties, or picnics, were trendy social events to which each family gave by bringing 1 or 2 tasty dishes. Oftentimes, one family made a decision to host the full picnic, decreasing the responsibility on the guests and the selection of foods available. Picnicking as we all know it today truly took shape during Victorian age. Picnicking was slowly integrated into Western european culture, ultimately becoming a world hobby. The word picnic itself is originally from French.
